Ten Gods (十星) — Stars of Relationship
The ten relationship types between the Day Master and other characters — the foundation of Saju chart reading.
When people talk about "wealth luck," "career luck," or "relationship luck" in saju —
where do those ideas actually come from?
They all come from the Ten Gods (十星).
Starting from the Day Master (일간 — that's you), we look at every other character in your chart:
Does it generate you? Does it control you? Is it the same element? →
That relationship gets sorted into 10 categories, and that's the Ten Gods.
I'll break it down in 5 posts.
🧵 (1/5)
比劫 & 食傷 — Your Alter Egos and Self-Expression
比劫 (Bijeb) — Same element as the Day Master
比肩 (Bigyeon): Peers and rivals. Strong independent streak.
劫財 (Geopjae): More aggressive energy. "Money comes in but never stays."
食傷 (Siksang) — Elements the Day Master generates
食神 (Sikshin): Talent flows naturally. Good appetite, good health.
傷官 (Sanggwan): Sharp tongue, sharp critique. Rebels against authority.
Strong 食神 builds a structure where talent earns money.
Strong 傷官 → musicians, writers, founders.
🧵 (2/5)
財星 & 官星 — Wealth and Power
財星 (Jaeseong) — Elements the Day Master controls
正財 (Jeongjae): Salary, savings. Steady and reliable.
偏財 (Pyeonjae): Investment, business. Volatile but active.
官星 (Gwanseong) — Elements that control the Day Master
正官 (Jeonggwan): Honor, career stability. The premier auspicious star in a chart.
偏官 / 七殺 (Pyeongwan / Chilsal): Intense pressure. Used well → charisma. Used poorly → disaster.
When 食神 subdues the 七殺 → 食神制殺 (Sikshin Jesal).
One of the most powerful structures for overcoming adversity and achieving great success.
🧵 (3/5)
印星 — The Force That Supports You
印星 (Inseong) — Elements that generate the Day Master
正印 (Jeongin): Academia, mother, documents. The most stable auspicious star.
偏印 (Pyeonin): Intuition, inspiration, spirituality. Creative but inconsistent.
Strong 正印 → well-suited for professors, researchers, civil servants.
When 偏印 overpowers 食神 → 倒食 (Dosik): talent gets blocked.
印星 is your "backing."
Without it, no matter how capable you are, there's nothing supporting you.

"Daily Myeongli" Format
Standalone 1 — 官殺混雜
What happens when both 正官 and 偏官 appear together in your natal chart?
→ 官殺混雜 (Gwansal Hongjap)
Career never quite settles. Constant job-hopping.
Men tend to clash with authority figures.
Women find their romantic lives getting complicated.
If you have 官殺混雜, you wait for a Major Cycle (大運) to bring in a character that removes one of them through combination (合) or clash (沖).
Standalone 2 — 財多身弱
What if 財星 is overflowing but the Day Master is weak?
→ 財多身弱 (Jaeda Sinyak)
"I can see the money — I just can't grab it."
財星 = the things you need to manage.
When the Day Master is weak, it can't hold the weight.
The fix: During Major Cycles (大運) of 印星 or 比劫, strengthen the Day Master — then wealth actually flows in.
Standalone 3 — 食神制殺
The most dramatic structure in saju:
食神制殺 (Sikshin Jesal)
偏官 (七殺) is pressing down on you hard —
but 食神 steps in and subdues it.
七殺 = extreme pressure and crisis
食神 = talent and wisdom
Using talent to conquer crisis →
A structure that signals major achievement after great adversity.
You see this often in famous entrepreneurs and artists.
